You have a live campaign with Ourcart and want to understand the fraud risks

The CPG Marketing Solution counts on a very detailed and complex fraud prevention mechanism. This was developed to reduce the impact of fraud activity and/or malicious behavior from “consumers”.

Varying mechanisms allow the system to automatically detect such activities and block the users from claiming any reward going forward. The blockage happens across promotions, meaning that it does not matter the brand or promotion the user is attempting to participate in, and the consumer will be suspended in all scenarios.

In order to minimize and reduce the fraudulent activity, some more action steps are used, such as, but not limited to:

  • Fraud Score: A fraud scoring system that considers every detail of the user's behavior from the moment they start the process in order to assess whether they are fraudulent or not.

  • Browser & Device Identification: A unique fingerprint of the user's device enables Ourcart to prevent users from registering multiple times with different credentials. 

  • User Validation: Ourcart verifies the user's validity through several methods to ensure they are real consumers.

  • Duplicate Receipt Detection: A duplicate detection algorithm compares various features and data points to recognize duplicate receipts accurately.

  • Daily Limit: The daily limit ensures that if there is an unusually high level of activity, the system has the capacity to run manual fraud checks to ensure all legitimate traffic and thus avoid a substantial loss.
